Our Story
Warangal is a historic city. It is the cultural capital of Telangana. Warangal has been the capital of Glorious Kakatiya Empire and also been an epicenter of Telangana Movement. It is the second biggest city of Telangana. It is recognized as the Smart City by Government of India.
But unfortunately, there exists a Slum City in the womb of Smart City. More than half of the population lives in the 192 slums that exists in the city. Almost all of those living in these slums suffer from severe poverty and lack basic amenities. Livelihood is a major concern for the youth and the women in these areas. Children from these slums depend on Government Schools which have huge infrastructural gaps and lack even minimum facilities. Same is the case with the villages in the erstwhile Warangal District.
Although Warangal has the potential to be spotted on the world map, without addressing these concerns it becomes a challenge for the natives of this region to unleash their potential.
So, a group of individuals concerned with these challenges came together in 2020 to form Indus Foundation and to work for the betterment of those living below poverty line. Facilitating education and livelihood opportunities in the slums and nearby villages and filling small infrastructural gaps in the local habitations has been the prime focus of Indus.

We believe that every individual, regardless of their background, has the potential to thrive, contribute to society, and make a positive impact on the world.
Our Mission
Indus aims at eradicating poverty and empowering communities by providing education and employment opportunities to the poor and by providing basic amenities in slums and villages.
